For some answers, there’s ethereal belief. For others, there’s science. For all, a journey.

Ever Wonder Why?

A newspaper sheet rolling
At times flying
Wind its companion
Over rough roads
Around fence posts
Power lines
Over drain ditches
Through tunnels
Across railroad tracks
Even occasional hitches
Splayed across radiator grills

Inevitably

 A refolding beneath rubber treads
Reshaping
Reforming
Reconstituting itself
Renders vagabond the persistent journey

Finding tomorrow a city
To warm the homeless
Atop subway gratings
Making breath alive and warm again
That day's reinvention

Ever wonder why it is?

So much transforms
Creating new meaning
New worth
New purpose

While most of us
Exist awhile
Die forever

Ever wonder why?

"While most of us
Exist awhile
Die forever"

is that it? if so, it's grim and i see why we look for more;
are we worth the scraps of paper the wind
treats so casually?
i'm perpetually wondering why, Odin.

I know I am aggravated when I have to pick them out of my back yard out of the bushes!

I loved the way you wrote this. You write of a wanderer who is not afraid to travel along their way venturing in all areas. I know there are people like this. The wanderer... While many just sit and vegetate instead of walking down different paths. I don't wonder why, people interest me immensely, but it's the great part of being a people watcher. It stimulates one to think and ponder.

Lovely write Odin

So many questions, so few answers. You have observed the time span of the news. For as long it takes that paper to fly off to another place, the news is old.

Yes, but you forgot, newspapers are used as covering for objects when you move and are opened like a present when you come to your final destination. It is like a party for yourself as you unravel each newspapered object. I always wonder why I don't read some of the covered objects? Very different, made me, Wonder Why? Thanks for sharing Odin
