this poem wa written after seeing so many of my freinds pass away.

In the world where death and misery come so easy,

A tear falls everytime I hear a child has been abused or killed. And there's a war in another country where they know no peace.

A tear falls everytime I see that as Black kings and queens we still feel we are not free after Malcolm and Dr. King. A promise to the world in which he has no true control.

A tear falls everytime a woman dies from being beat by someone she loved.  A tear falls everytime a child is born into the world without a father to guide him.

What's left of the world's destruction a tear falls everytime.

Wow...I'm surprised there are not a string of comments about this beautiful poetry. Just this line alone is fabulously genuine: "In the world where death and misery come so easy," that is powerful. "A promise to the world in which he has no true control." Also deeply, expansively powerful. "....beat by someone she loved." There is profound knowledge in this piece of writing, Carolyn. Keep writing! ~~ Diana
