Crimson Sun
By La Belle Rouge


you watched me... and listened
to the heartbeat of my words
you, a crimson sun on a horizon
I had never noticed or explored
you rose on my dawn, an inferno
torching arctic night of my soul
reminding me of the real woman
I have always been, ever shall be,
crowned in a kingdom of your eyes
held in the fortress of your heart



you articulated in an ancient tongue
we both still understand and speak
poetry not carried on words alone
but on shared breath of our souls
mouthfuls mingled from antiquity
waking me from drugged slumber
forcing me to yet survive in dreams
where secret smiles supplant tears
and I am alive, flourishing once more
in the tropical heat of our daybreak

LA BELLE, I THINK BY NOW YOU KNOW ME WELL...AS A REVIEWER. I TRY ALWAYS TO BE HONEST, BECAUSE THAT IS THE KIND OF REVIEWS I SEEK FOR THE WORK I SHARE. THAT SAID, LET ME SAY THAT THE 'COLORS' IN THE WORKS PRESENTED HERE ARE BREATHTAKING...THE PICTURE AND THE PHRASES THAT THE PAINTING INSPIRED...I APPRECIATE THEM BOTH. BUT FOR THE FIRST TIME, EVER(NO, LET ME CORRECT THAT, I THINK ITS THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME)...THERE IS SOMETHING IN YOUR WORK I DO NOT 'AGREE' WITH; THE MUSIC. I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE ITS BECAUSE ITS 5:45 AM AND I'VE BEEN UP ALL NIGHT ON A 'STARBUCKS HIGH'(SMILE)BUT, THE MUSIC DOESN'T SEEM TO 'FLOW' WITH THE WORK. YOU SEE, USUALLY I REVIEW WITH THE SOUND 'OFF' BUT WHEN I GOT TO YOUR WORK, I PURPOSELY TURNED IT ON BECAUSE I KNOW YOUR WORKS ARE ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED BY SUCH COMPLEMENTARY MELODIES. HOWEVER, THIS TIME, I TURNED THE MUSIC OFF AND FOUND THAT THE BEAUTY OF THIS OFFERING WAS NOT LESSENED AT ALL BY THE ABSENCE OF IT. I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN...ABSOLUTELY NO PUNT INTENDED WHATSOEVER, JUST SAYING WHAT I REALLY FEEL. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Uniquely, sexually articulated are the words within this flaming poem of passion as old as the ages, and a passion which will never burn itself out.
