What happens on the eve of your 65th Birthday? |
|
When I retire
Will I be too old to hire
Sixty-five
Hey, I am still alive
Fifty years experience gained
Confidence and ability never waned
Mentor, Expert, Sage
Evident at my age
When I retire
Will I be too old to hire?

Tony,

The answer in one word: yes. In the workforce, experience and wisdom doesn't count anymore, you must be able to multitask and pick up on the latest whiz bang that is going to change the world.
My answer: volunteer. When you do good work for no compensation you are rewarded many times over by the smiles on everyone's faces that you touch.
I will be seventy 12-21-12, still work hard at my writing every day, and have no fear that the world will end because no one wants to hire me because of my age.
