William,
Sometimes we only have a split second to capture that moment in time. You did this beautifully..the pic and verses.

| Beautiful without a shadow of a doubt. I'm jealous and bow to your pen as awakening all I see from my porch is an angry blue jay. Where is my cell camera when I need it. ENJOYED SEEING WITH YOUR EYES. |

I do that too, trying to watch a bird takeoff from the high tension wires behind my house. The hawks are the hardest to identify. Every time I hope to see one takeoff, I somehow am sleeping or distracted. But you have the picture for evidence, and I like you, couldn't identify what kind of hawk it is.
That's why I don't like eye witness accounts.

As I love to take pictures as well, I usually have my NIKON close by no matter where I go or what I do and I have discovered they do seem to have a mind of their own. Driving down a country lane not far from where I live was an old red barn, a heritage site that once was part of a farm asylum. Anyway something told me to take a picture or two of it, I did, and the next day I read in the news that it had burned to the ground.
