At 70 miles an hour the surrounding light and images go by in a blur, and I still press the gas harder.
Just trying to get through another day, this seems the best way. Not ever looking more than once at what my world composed of, this is my way of getting through.
But all I do is fool my self into another lie. I must know lift my foot or become numb to this life.
With this thought in mind I take my foot off the gas and look behind me, at what Iíve lost. Because this is a one way road, and I can not go back.
Now as I start to slow, I see so much more after my first glance. And I may even take part in what is going on beside me, instead of pressing the gas I take a break and try understanding once more.
