SPANISH MOON song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

underneath the Spanish moon
she told me she'd come back soon
on the first of May
then she went away

underneath the Spanish moon
in the twilight and the gloom
in my lonely room
see the Spanish moon

shining through the window
through another night
waiting in the darkness
in the frozen light
face the dark alone
heart is like a stone
till she comes back home

underneath the Spanish moon
we were happy I presumed
that's what I believed
till she had to leave

underneath the Spanish moon
did I too much did assume
did I think that ever
love would last forever

was it just a lie
never knew the why
was I just a tool
was I just a fool
did she tell the truth
did I give my youth
to a promised dream
was nothing what it seemed
to be?

underneath the Spanish moon
she told me she'd come back soon
on the first of May
then she went away

underneath the Spanish moon
in the twilight and the gloom
in my lonely room
see the Spanish moon

was it just a lie
never knew the why
was I just a tool
was I just a fool
did she tell the truth
did I give my youth
to a promised dream
was nothing what it seemed
to be?
