I. My Lovely Manatee
I dreamed myself a dugong swimming in the calm sea
Where I fell in love there with a lovely manatee
We were very happy and we always got along
That is until she took up with a longer dugong
Not to be long enough is tough alone in the rough sea
Nor did I choose to lose my love my lovely manatee
II. When Dugongs Do It
Oh the humanity of a huge manatee
Digging a big long dugong in the swim
Swimming to her as it were as to him
Meeting a manatee halfway wholeheartedly
Too long since we had a manatee around
The house a dugong lost but not yet found
When dugongs do it and manatees mate
Then again is when it is never too late
When dugongs do it then we can do it too
I can be a manatee again and so can you
Splashing through the river flashing to the sea
Dugong you along with manatee me
III. Because He Was a Manatee
A manatee got mad at me
Because I smoked his grass
His vanity offended thus he kicked my ass
But gently though because he was a manatee
IV. Man and Manatee
As I could not eat
The meat of a man
The flesh of a big long dugong
Would be too strong
For me
Too strong familiarity
Wrong all along
Nor could I eat
Manatee meat
Poor me
In the breadline
Not eating the meat
But doing fine
Though life is short if not for long
Where the meat is beaten and eaten
Our condition though fatal not serious
But for manatee or man mysterious
As it can be as we can see
Man and manatee
