The Dark
I lurk inside the happy child
I am the dark
My shadow stains the glowing bride
And plants miscarriage deep inside
I am the dark
I rend the infant in the womb
I am the dark
My hate aborts the unborn child
In savage pain and fury wild
I am the dark
I strangle hope in the desperate cripple
I am the dark
I spread foul poison in his mind
No hope of joy I leave behind
I am the dark
I hover o’er the starving child
I am the dark
I breathe my spite upon the corn
And curse to hunger those unborn
I am the dark
I dance around the helpless child
I am the dark
I guide the rapists’ hand and heart
As innocence is torn apart
I am the dark
I steal the future of mankind
I am death
All living things to me must bend
Yet I am not my brother’s friend
I am death
My hand all suffering must end
I am death
The murdered child, the hungry poor
Lay down their burdens at my door
I am death
I am the beacon of un-hope
I am death
To me beyond the brazen door
Come soon all born, both rich and poor
I am death
I am the futile scream of love
I am light
I fight the power of entropy
All living things arise from me
I am light
I am the mocking power of hope
I am light
I flare and die and pass away
Like clouds upon an autumn day
I am light
We are one
The Janus face of life and death
Of health and joy and final breath
Are born of us the three in one
We are your God.
