i can touch lands with my tongue
the ones i was promised as a little girl
on origami wings paper mache clouds gliding
catch me if you dare-
roads liquefied on lily toes i follow
to where home is nap sack sit
wait,
lady traveler spins me a new dish
i gotta go,
follow the direction of the wind--
if i trade spit for naughty rides
my ruby shoes for boots
it will take me closer
where songs dig deep in my gut
sing tributaries in my honor
northern interludes promising
tilt collar-dollars
on rest smoke
summed in hard thoughts
of i wanna go here next
get ready, on atomic petals poised
the middle of foreigners
rocked, confined locked-looking out closed windows
dreaming of fly-by night majesties
i am trapped down to sacrifice
crunched on moonless nights
it was the call to mama,
that brought me home.
