|i believe if we control our fears we have opened the portrait of power ... but the face staring baring in the mirror can be disturbing sometimes ...

|You captured your topic really well here Jerry, yes I too have looked in the mirror in my life to see fear but I know that it must be faced for us to go on with our lifes.

|I have to disagree with Odin, as I find the first stanza sets up the second, but maybe it's like arranging furniture in a room. . . it's a 'feel' that is individual-specific. I see the finish of this, your own face, a tale twist that is an appreciably-recognized reflection for humans since the time mirrors were glassy ponds. I like your portrayal of the act of helping being an inherent human risk-taking for another, whether by action or 'listening.' Two lines I want to keep forward in my cupboard are: "the older I get/the fewer truths I know." ~~ DIana|

|Words to the wise. I couldn't help but want to see the first stanza last, however. Seemed the most impactful line closed that section and seemed more appropriate at the end. But, that's just me. Well done.|

|Aye Jerry for we have all faced fear,
Fear of the unknown
Fear of what waits around the next corner
Fear of rejection
Fear of many things
And in our knowing we fear
We reach out our hand
A knowing we all possess
and do not want others to face the fears we have
What a wonderful wonderful topic for we have all faced this.
Beautiful as always Jerry
