An Ode to Happiness: A Requiem to Jan My Love
I know of your past…I have seen the hurt and mistrust burn like coals in your eyes.
I reach out to you and you smile and suddenly I see the promise of love and life.
I know you have journeyed too many, oh too many hard and difficult miles in your short life.
Yet know this my love…I am here by your side always…I will wipe your tears and carry your strife.
If you were to ask of me but for a star shining bright in the night sky, I would give you all of heaven to your delight.
I would capture moonbeams and hold them close to this, my simple man’s heart.
And when you cry I would release them back into the night sky to bring light back into your life.
Me thinks sometimes Jan that you truly fail to see the joy of the love I have for thee.
If you were but a small dainty flower blooming in the meadow so soft and sweetly green.
I would pick you from all the rest; I would hold you near my heart as I do now and give unto you love unseen.
You dear Jan are the gold that I have found amongst the many fields of broken stones.
I will always love and protect you; I will keep you safe and always call you my own.
I love you Jan and I always will.
