It only takes a shove

Breaking the crust encased boredom

That settles without any help,

Around my thought process hallways,

Filled with unopened doorways.

I give the door a mighty shove

And it gives way to the hallway

Where I run through its many turns

Seeking the light that will set me free.

And when I have found the window

From which all light emanates;

Then life seizes me and I'm gone

Mixing with the world around me.

Writing such poetry *George* You must
have written this one from the insights

The Title caught my attention immediately. My grandson is always bored, but, he won't clean his room. I told him that would be a good start. Very good write, George.

The joys of retirement aren't always as wonderful as people believe. Although I try to keep active and do as much as I can there are times that yes boredom and routine just make me want to break out and find the door to something new.

Combating boredom is my favorite activity... Reading, writing, yard work, sipping a glass of wine on the patio, internet surfing or watching TV in the evening all help to keep it at bay.

When all that fails, I eat something. Dick

Routine will do that to you. But then, it helps to rejuvenate, too.

I cannot fathom a writer or artist experiencing the true essence of boredom.........to many characters or ideas, images running through our minds LOL.

Boredom is a rarity for me, my mind never ceases...I am always consumed in thoughts, my friends whether here or in other states or countries. There is so much a person can do, read (my personal favorite), write, walk in nature (if able), call a friend, work a puzzle (I also like that), draw thoughts... I could go on. Not a big one on Telly to me that is the ultimate last resort. But, if you are happy with yourself you won't become bored (rarely) and nothing wrong with reflecting.

Nice poem George

Boredom can be a real pain, alright, George. I hardly ever get bored, but it does happen on occasion.
