"Love distills desire upon the eyes; love brings bewitching grace into the heart."

Unto mine eyes

Unto mine eyes you fill this soul

As it quenches my thirst

For you be onely unto me alone

Your breath upon which I partake

The luster of sweet nectar

Placed unto me fills my cup

For it nary runneth dry

From mine garden I take thee prized rose

Before thee I hand it unto thee

But not to upright  thee or glorify

Only that you may kiss these petals

Returning unto me this rose

Of your breath so it may forever live

No longer to wither upon the day

As mine love for thee nary withers

I bid unto thee mine heart

So gentle and benevolent

Thou canst find any other

For it only becomes to thee

That which I freely give

But if I must part from thine presence

Forever I take this eternal love

For which is gladly placed upon thee

Mine love, and life, mine heart

For thee I e’en depart unto death

Mine soul wilst be eternally blissed

There must be an object of your affection here to write something so touching

I'm with Budd Nelson, who is the impetus of your script? I would love you to write us a poem about that person. This is velvety writing that swishes around our senses like taffety and lace, and makes us yearn for yesteryear. Yes it does. ~~ Diana

So classic and so romantically expressed; in my humble opinion, the intended recipient of such lovely and loving sentiments is fortunate indeed. Love and best wishes to you, Carolee.

You are truly an inspiration to all but more so to me. I love the style of this and the love I share is just as beautiful. You have a talent for expressing love.

Stay well and keep writing

The days of old were such a beautiful romantic time Lily, Gone with the wind but better the way you write. Women were cared for and worshiped more in those times. Put on a pedestal is my thought to be something cherished and to have a future with. Today I sadly say this is a lost art. Thank you dear for writing something so beautiful.

This is so beautiful Lilly, I agree with Jane. It's like your an old poet the way you write. This is great as well.

Amor non celatur

Love cannot be hide. This is so romantic and so full of love.
Your heart must be filled with love to write so eloquent and touching.

Thanks Carolee “Mine soul wilst be eternally blissed”

You had to be born with an old soul........a writer's of course! Your stuff is so "that way"! When I read your poems it's like stepping into another, older, century!

Love ya!

The sweetness of thine lips, the fragrance of thine breath, eternally blissed. My dear lady Lily, but the view of past poets who spoke so elegantly to their lady love. Devine, bravo!

I bow and tip my hat to you

Liked the quote above the poem.

All the stanzas were perfectly written with a lovers' gentle touch, Carol. My favorite of the stanzas, however, was the second one, where the rose, after having been kissed forever lives. Ultra perfect is that one on my humble way of thinking.
