this poem for all those who made me question my beauty as a plus size diva.

This skin I'm in is colored by birth.

has seen it's share of scars inside and out.

Those scars dertermined my clout as both a woman and human being.

This skin I'm in was beat by men who claimed they loved me but no doubt did it to prove they could destroy or break my spirit and worth.

This skin I'm in has been loved by few, hated by many.

This skin I'm in has been tortured by what society's way of thinking am I pretty enough, small enough, sexy enough?

to find the right kind of man.

This skin I'm in makes me scream in the mirror because of all thw shame for things I've done to hurt.

Black womans blues is the same.

This skin I'm in with full breasts and nice behind other sisters walk by and think my shape and curves are a crime.

My testimony to all my body flaws.

This skin I'm in is not for me to be ashamed but embrace.

For this skin I'm in is my crown and glory.

                          this skin I'm in.

I concur with Vickie....opinions define the giver of the opinion, not the subject. To discount any individual of human or any other life form is to discount nature in all of its glorious diversity. Dr. Seuss' Starbelly Snitches should be a manditory read in early grade school....just about the time kids develop the (adult-driven) 'distinction' handicap. This poetry is so ernest and trusting of the reader. Yes! on this poem ~~ Diana

That's Right! You Embrace Who You Are!!
and from my favorite Lady of All Time Says:
"You Were Born This Way" My Bestest friend is
a gorgeous black woman, and I tell you she ownes hers too! lol
I have always admired the confidence of black women, I know it
has been a struggle in history to empower & I for one voice
among society says: Never let another perons oppinion of you define you, because in actuality their oppinion of you defines them

Bold & Beautiful
