She's like a ray of sunshine
When she walks in the door
She gives me hugs and kisses
Like a million times before
My Grandchild is growing up
Not the little girl I used to see
She's a beautiful young lady
Who means everything to me

How can I protect her
From the pain along the way
And from the trials she'll be facing
Each and every day
If only I could hold her hand
And dry her every tear
 Nana's aren't always around
To calm away the fears

I wish for her a good life
Joy and love along life's road
The Lord to look down on her
Lighten her heavy load
Her teen years have been busy
Texting, and spending time with friends
One day she'll wake up
Her teen years at and end

Give her the love of a good husband
Joy of  children, two or three
May all her dreams come true
With everything she wants to be
May the Lord walk close beside her
May she know His loving touch
May her heart always understand
Her Nana loves her very much

This sis a very loving poem, Linda. It's unfortunate but inevitable tht kids grow up. The best thing we can hope for is that every child have a loving presence like your in their lives.

Brooke is very blessed to have a Nana who tells her of her love. There are many grandparents who either are not able express to their love in words, or choose not to, for whatever reasons.
I just praise God so much for giving us the ability to communicate and share our deepest feelings in so many ways. Wonderful write, Linda.

Blessings to you,

Linda let go trust God and watch Him show up and act out on Brook's behalf because of your prayers for her and your love. God will answer your prayers because you are one of His! Alleluia!! This poem is one of your best very beautifully, majestically and humbly written. Peace!!!

Your poem is a love story that most nanas wish they could write. I hope she appreciates the writing about her as much as I do.

Very beautiful granddaughter Linda. We cannot protect them, we can only love them and hope for the best holding them up in prayer and meditations. All parents and the like have these very normal fears for their children.

Beautiful girl :)

Very nice poetic love letter praising your treasured one, Brooke. My advice as a parent is, "You are the company you keep and you become like those who you spend the most time with." As long as she is in good company and has the Lord in her heart she will do just fine.
