Inspired by Ari Folman’s “Waltz with Bashir", an animated documentary about the tragic wounds of conflict in the Holy Land. Offered without judgement on any group, but as comment on the mindless, unconscionable cruelty of war in our fragile world; with the thought that we are joined by our ancient religious history, and by our human spirituality.

What dance are we dancing,

alone in the bleeding sand,

my brother?

Who are we killing with these swords

          in our hands? Ourselves,

                                     my brother.

Whose death ever quenched

this arid land,

my brother?

The dance moves us ‘round and ‘round

in the ancient sand,

my brother.

We should serve one another

in our Master’s land,

my brother.

Reach for my hand ~ reaching for your

                        hand in the weeping sand,

my brother.

The anguish is ancient and deep. There are those on all sides who fan fires of war for their own purposes. I believe that the Internet and the education and bring will an end to war in due time.

Only if they could know that they are really one man's sons; then, maybe there could be peace. Well done, Vicky.

This is a plea for peace; your theme is a universal and sadly a timeless one. Will we ever see peace in this world? Thank you, Vicky. Love, peace, and blessings,

Regis
