“We are all born with the ability, and close the door for religion teaches its evil. Some are not capable of closing the door and are thought mad.” ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

Through the archways

Paths curving and snaking

Logical/illogical reality and fantasy

Blind faith, hope and vision

Mystery abides behind the great door

Unable to open, unable to unlock it

All aspiring to get beyond the mystery

Some have found their way

Curse or blessing comes with knowledge

Faint of heart cannot phantom

Strong must be the soul who possesses

For once opened there is no turning back

All possess it, with no understanding the child

For the child sees what is normal innate

Until their reality is shattered

The child closes the door of knowledge

But there are the special ones

Although the door is closed

Knowledge keeps pushing through

The door cannot be held shut

The adult now remains quiet and apart

Not wishing to be among the crowds

Leaning hard against the door of knowledge

Telling it to be gone it is not wanted

But fate steps in and says you’re special

You escape to nature for solace

Looking for the wisdom from the trees

Looking in the pools of water seeing reflections

Scrying though you do not wish too

Your own tears drip into the pool of water

Creating expanding circles before you

Unable to stop what you see

There is no such thing as a secret

For if one finds out

They want your knowledge

You guard it carefully

You fight the love in your heart

Because if you give the knowledge

With it comes pain

There is no balance as Yin and Yang

Not for you, and you ask for guidance

Knowing you must guide others

Through your own pain of knowledge

It is your path to walk

Feeling like the burnt star

Sucked into the abyss of knowledge

The dark hole

Falling into others dreams and realities

Sometimes, your poem leaves me quite wordless. There is so much "coming at me" from what you share that I lose my breathing. This is the case with this one. There is so much to garner and much more to "understand". Thank you, Carol. Love and best wishes,

I see this as a truth revealed about yourself, it must be painful for you. Excellent writing using your mind and its pathway to describe what you face and how it affects you emotionally

How is it that I can relate to the depth of which you write.
"With it comes the pain, there is no balance as Yin and Yang."
Excellent writing!

Thank you,

Magnificiant! you have graced my heart with the truth you have revealed from your soul, and the deepest depths of the heavens. Carrying the weight of truth is a curse only to be loved more than this short life, but as life eternal. Your beauty here, out shines the sun, as its mornings brightness stares me in the face, and blinds me.

Fabulous dear Carol

I know of what you speak. This knowledge does sometimes seem like a burden. Always remember to embrace this gift from the universe. Time will tell when this will all come to pass. I am hearing you spirit sister

Sounds to be a bit of a painful truth, though to me, I think it might be an interesting way to live, to be able to use a "power" that we otherwise would not be able to facilitate...e

You are a very gifted woman my dear lady Lily, although we have not formally met you have told me things that no one on earth could know. You have helped my wife and me tremendously. Bless you dear lady and know this is not your curse.

Reading all the comments Lilly, I don't know if this is about truth and pain or psychic readers. Either way it is a great write, and now I wish I had the opportunity for my wife and I to meet you.

Good stuff

I know what you speak of Lily, my own personal knowledge of you reading me and my thoughts. Something I thought was impossible in this world. Shakes the foundation of my religious beliefs, and shows me there is more than what are willing to see.

I agree with Vaineo, deep and on of your very best

Truth, "For once opened there is no turning back." even for the one who didn't think they opened the door....they did. Soul touching write.

For you the door could not be held shut.
Many expect knowledge to be a blessing and desperately try to find it, trying to look for the mystery behind the great door.
But real knowledge can be a heavy burden, a curse as you say.
To use the words of Solomon: For in much wisdom is much grief,
And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.

This poem testifies to your great great knowledge Carolee, I'm deeply impressed

Sometimes, Carol, you are unable to see the forest for the trees. I realize that is an old line, but it is nevertheless true. You have penned a mighty poem here today.

I have no abilities but have no doubt that others do. Nature is a refuge of peace and tranquility and one must listen to the Wisdom of The Trees for it is evident. Touching write about those who hide pain.
