Never dwelling in the past, only learning from what was to make what is, much better.

Retrospection
by Amber "V" Moonstone
7/29/12

Twilight came quickly,
beneath this brilliant purple sky,
the clouds were whispy and dark,
as was my heart.

Alone, I think of you,
wondering where you are,
how you are doing,
and my soul mourns for you.

Dwelling in the past,
makes no sense,
but the past is where we were,
and my heart is empty.

There isn't a moment in each day,
that I don't think of your voice,
your glimmering eyes,
and my soul is floundering.

When did it all go wrong?
was it just a whim,
a faniciful dream of cosmic lovers?
my heart tells me different.

The heart does not lie,
it is a barometer of the soul,
when two souls separate,
the heart becomes the lonely hunter.

How long does the past haunt you?
Does the present become a focus,
and the future elusively challenging,
when two souls were one in this Universe.

There are no answers,
no rules toward our destiny,
only following this lonely hunter,
toward a final heart and soul experience.

Such powerful authenticity here, Amber, and soul-stirring sentiment. And such a sad place to be - yet you continue to grow, learn and build for your future which undoubtedly awaits. There are so many of us who can relate to your theme; my own daughter is rebuilding her life after one such shocking episode and it is tough when what has been undoubtedly shared by two now lives on only in the heart and mind of the one who remains "unchanged". My words to her are to stay true to herself and she will yet find her personal best of all possible worlds - and her perfect match! Hold tight to love, Amber, and it will yet find you. xx

FROM EVERY EXPERIENCE WE DO LEARN SOMETHING...AND WE CAN USE THE PAST AS A GUIDE FOR OUR FUTURE IF WE RECOGNIZE IT AS A POSITIVE TOOL RATHER THAN A NEGATIVE ONE. WELL DONE AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Never let the dark pervade your soul, let it go and let the light remain. It is our ego which desires to hold onto things and eat at our soul. A term I have always used is this, "like an old comfortable pair of jeans we do not wish to let them go," but there comes a time they are not useful anymore.

It is within our ability to let the past go, but in the present as present situations it is within our ability to say no, go leave me be.

Well written Amber for a soul that is troubled.

It may linger on until the day you die, or it may be erased by fonder memories as time goes by. Only time will tell. In the meantime, keep busy because an idle mind is a hell of a workshop.

Damn, Amber, I wish I could use this poem exactly as it is written to write to someone. I won't do that, because it's against the law, but still . . . the poem is just that good in my situation.
