Eerily haunting breeze blows
amid turning leaves in gleaning
backwoods left behind deserted
from towns heady abandonment
for what seeming deemed to be
of waste

Just enough standing tall provoking
one of something yet that we want
to feel of this unsung mystery
lurking in the middle of paths to
nowhere and everywhere

Questioning ghostly rustle in the
air revealing a sign that we are
not as committed to a future as
believed for the lost and forsaken
remain making it known that voices
have yet to be heard

For their sake of tranquility my
thoughts are in remembering those
who passed this way should not be forgotten for sacrifices in our
past in order to rest in peace
today

A friend of mine wrote these lyrics:
"Still trying to reach the future through the past,Still trying to carve tomorrow from a tombstone"... The downside of dwelling too much on the past but your words illustrate that our past makes us what we are today and the debt we owe to those who have gone before us.

you are a wise lady and a fine poetess, yes hopefully we have learned from yesterday.

yes the past meant to teach, yet we tend not to read the manual. It's a cut and paste job anyway.

So many just want to turn their back on the past and walk away, but there is much to be learned and we should take the time to do it while the evidence still exists.

A BEAUTIFUL YET POWERFUL PIECE OF WRITING. PAST AND PRESENT ARE LINKED CLOSELY HELPING THOSE WHO MUST GO ON TO HAVE PEACE OF MIND.
Reviewed by Jerry Bolton 8/1/2012
The linkage of past and present should forever be identified within the heart to allow those who have go on before a peace of mind.
