It used to be great to hear the sound of the trumpets calling us to gather around the TV to watch the Olympic games. It was a special time and we usually picked one or more hero's from our country or from another. However, I look at the swimmers and know that they take whatever drugs they can get away with. It's a different world. Then the poor spirited attitudes are tweeted for all to hear. The politics run thicker than ever as the rules and climate have changed right at the start of the sick hospital opening event. What are they trying to sell? Poor healthcare? Is that the spirit of the games? I don't think so! Our Greek ancestors are rolling over in their graves now!

I used to LOVE to watch the Olympics. It had a special place in my heart.

But with drug taking cheaters and sarcastic tweeters the games got off to a very bad start.

We used to be united and watch ONE special channel. We knew the announcer for the games.

We knew the music and huddled close and cheered for our country. But the climate just is not the same.

So I watch on computer, on my I phone and on the T.V. as well; but I can’t find one hero to admire.

For the mix of the politics, drugs, and the change without hope, put OUT that Olympic fire.

So I’m sorry if I sound a bit negative because I am usually an optimistic man.

But I can’t find a Hero on earth.

So I LOOK UP to Jesus.

He’s our only HOPE, our HERO.

He IS the GREAT, I AM.

AMEN!
