Poem inspired by "Bernadine in the Butterfly Garden"

Inspiration sneaks up again...

Inspiration comes in ways that I don't understand

It sneaks up soundless, quick and sly, and grabbs me in its hand.

Who is inspiration and why is he so quick

to knock me off my clumsy feet and play his childish trick?

I want to eat, I want to sleep, I simply want to ... BE

why is living like the rest such chore for me?

Waking up at 2 or 3. then paint the day away...

my "normal" is exhausting... must paint... do NOT delay.....

Inspiration... yes I'm tired... but grateful to my core

Overload me every day... it's YOU that I adore!

Who are you inspiration? When will you come back?

Please knock me off my feet tonight... I'll wait for your attack!

You could be grateful for the inspiration. I read so many poems here from people who have dried up their muse. I envy you if you can paint. I wish I could, then I would. Ron

some people worry about clothes. some people worry about food. others worry about entertainment, etc. but a poet...? they worry about...when inspiration will come again. makes complete sense to me. thanks for share and i like the painting. asa
