This poem expresses thoughts after hiking with a camera through the Paavola Wet Lands just north of Hancock, MI, and seeing some of the many natural landscapes in that Keweenaw Land Trust Preserve.
Ice Sculptor
a sculptor chisels
saws and molds ice into art
that lasts a day
glacier's ice nails grate
scratch heavy against bedrock
art that lasts eons
