The woman I work with told me how she believes God did us a favor by not letting us know the future. I agree.

What if we knew our future

Knowing wonderful things

before they happened

Knowing challenges the next day

Knowing when a baby

would be bornr

Wouldn't stress

if we were hire for a job or

what we got on a test

 knowing the weather

for the next day and

able to protect our children

from possible harm

Yet - would we really

want to know the future?

No surprises

Not able to enjoy

the moment knowing what

was coming tomorrow

Really want to know if

we were going to die the next day?

Don't know about you but I

kinda like things just the way they are

We are obsessed with predicting the future. That's why we have calendars, weather reports, and even filter from the coming winter. Of wars, of coarse, there can be wonderful surprises, but there can also be an early death if we don't plan ahead.

The whole idea of civilization is reducing risk by predicting the future and making it more stable. To “trust in some god” to make sure that everything comes out all right is a recipe for disaster.
