Renaissance a time of beauty in spoken word

 Thine Minstrel

Ah sweetest of thee thine minstrel

How thou sing’st away loves notes

Void of care well pleased in thine delights

As the fair season buds sprays

O’ the sweetest of flowers to thine heart

I am thine heart thy cup to thine soul

For what dear gift cannot be declared

A gift not spare to me of thine bounty

Thou dost sing most marvelous well

Well pleased love bade me welcome

It doth warm hands sprung from beautie

O’ be mine still and make thee whole

Lillies speak to me softness and purity

Thee music speaks to thy heart

Thy Creator’s goodness declared

Oh how I do not like this style of writing. I have to force myself to read what is expressed and not get "hung up" on the "thee/thou/thine" etc... Nevertheless, this is a very compelling romantic offering and I know that you would probably have loved to live during the Renaissance. Thank you, Carol. Love and best wishes,

Moved beyond words,dost thou feel,
Lily of Lough Neagh, oh so real,
A heart that speaks of one she loves,
The creator's goodness came from above.
Sing thou's song a music to ears,
Upon these verses was brought to tears,
A love moved inside of man,
Thank you for sharing, my dear sweet friend.

Curtsey, to you,

Another lyrical lute of loveliness. The lady and her minstrel are both "well pleased in thine delights", I think. I always notice a smile on my face at some point when I am writing comments on your work! Be well, Kathy

So classic and romantically expressed in my opinion, the intended guy of such beautiful sentiments is fortunate indeed. Great Lilly as always

The Renaissance seemed to have much going on at that time and men were probably much more romantic then they are today...Beautiful poetry from a beautiful woman.

what a tale of love between a lady and her minstrel in the finest time period of would have been a lady of the nobility

The most beautiful time in recorded history. Love bloomed in music, the artist's brush and the written word. I feel I belong there with my fair maiden. A knight of lesser talent trying to joust my way to my lady's heart. I saw a lot of sky. LOL endering poem of love.

Stay well and keep writing

You write in many forms and many genres dear lady Lily, all with the utmost talent. I am fond of the ones written of love.

I bow and tip my hat to you

And you, dear lady, would fit right in the Renaissance's midst without a flicker of a doubtful and wondering eyelash. You have the beauty in spoken word in your poetry and those words are an extension of you, and you are wonderful.
