                                 Even In The Void

                                     If I've been
                                     hurt by life
                                     and you hear my
                                     deepest anguish,
                                     make no mistake
                                     of it.  No matter
                                     how dark the defeat
                                     nor deep the wound,
                                     I wouldn't skip
                                     one quick heartbeat
                                     of this life nor
                                     stop longing for
                                     some unknown glory
                                     even in the void.

Succinct but powerful in meaning evoked and expressed. Love and peace to you,

And, arguably, that "glory" will indubitably come as either pain or joy, as the void probably knows appreciating the full experience you cite in the poem is impossible without the unity of opposites, that knowing black only because we understand white. Beautifully rendered.
