A poem is usually a short story

With a beginning, middle and an end.

In many cases it may not follow

That exact format as a poet extracts words.

However it is written it has meanings

That are not too obvious but are there.

Some readers may see a poem

From their vantage point and it can be different.

It's fun to see different opinions

On a poem I write each day,

None are wrong of course-

The beauty of self expression.

I learn so much from my readers.

Much more than they are aware of.

For a poet is always growing

And the reader adds to that growth.

AMEN! AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT A POEM IS GEORGE. IT IS A PRECIOUS WORK THAT IS SEEN IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS AND HAS SO MANY DIFFERENT MEANINGS, DEPENDING ON WHO IS READING IT. AND SOMETHING ELSE; BOTH THE READER 'AND' THE POET GROWS. THANKS FOR SHARING YET ANOTHER WONDERFUL TASTE OF YOUR WISDOM. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

An 'almost' arrant symbiotic relationship - readers and writers. One needs the other mostly; though a writer could write without being read, a reader could never read without other writers, unless they read only their own work, which would invariably stunt the development of the relationship. peace George

I have learned a lot from those who read my
poetry. If it weren't for them I would not
grow in my writing ability. If it weren't
for others, and in particular Jerry Bolton
who gave you the first review, I would not
be excelling like I am.

Thank you George :)

Without readers we poets would come to think we were all-important. Our readers bring us back down to earth every now and then.
