This came to me after a difficult day on the job.

It wasn’t hard for them to see
How wondrous the day could be,
But when they got to work and found
All the stuff their minds were bound,
In the office, they forgot the beauty,
Ending joy, just doing their duty.

How sad that they forgot to sit
And listen to the sounds that fit
The nature of the lives they live
And all the glories that God gives.

It’s hard to know what really matters
Among the hustle and all the chatter
Of coworkers who also saw,
But were distracted with Human flaws.

Perhaps if they gave God a chance,
They could make a final stance.
Learn to live the life God promised,
Running free and not harnessed
To the stone on which they grind‑
A whole new outlook with peace of mind.

Unfortunately, most people are not leaders but followers. They spend their lives following other people and laboring for the next generation, not their own.
