Holding onto garbage only makes it stink more.

Took out the trash
There was so much
Threw it away
Before it stank

It got hauled off
By a big truck
Washed out the can
Before it stank

Found one stray scrap
Of fallen trash
Burned it at once
Before it stank

WISE, VERY WISE. BEST WAY TO GET RID OF OLD 'GARBAGE' --- THROW IT OUT AND IF ANYTHING IS LEFT...BURN IT!!!! BEFORE IT STINKS MORE THAN IT ALREADY DOES! I'M GOING TO KEEP THIS METAPHOR, IT IS TERRIFIC. THANKS FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Isn't it strange how all that wonderful taste and smell that entices you to eat too much comes out so foul? Whoops! I guess you weren't talking about bodily functions, were you?

There are some delicate life's lessons to be heralded within the lines of this poem, Jane. The trick is to not hold onto "anything" until it begins to stink.
