The duality of inside and outside one’s awareness, i.e., the conscious and subconscious realm of existence, continues to provide never ending debate and contemplation. Some aficionados of the Zen Circle point to the similarity of white space inside and outside of the circle. The circle has created a duality of inside/outside that doesn't exist in reality. Descartes perceived duality a bit different. However, imagination--considering the phenomena of a black circle on a white page--begs the question: Is that which is inside also outside, and is not that which is outside also inside? As within, so without? A real Zen master would erase the line and meditate upon the blank page…as perhaps writers do often.
Echo Echo Time and Echoes
your today as you
the forgetfulness of tomorrow
the pain of yesterday as you
the now which thrives not on the past
beneath the jewel of the moment
the facets of reflective memories
the forever-resonant as halos above the abyss
the shackles of attachment
For just as infinity knows not Time
so too Creativity's countenance seeks no end

|New word for me: Reify...thanks. Gorgeous is this: "Seek/beneath the jewel of the moment" These lines carry wisdom of the kind Yoda bespoke. I am holding this line in my pocket this day, October 1, 2012: "Arrest/your today....." I will. ~~ Diana|

|I enjoy your prefaces almost as much as your poetic insights, Odinsan. Caught between two tensions. The multi-levelness of perception will never be truly comprehended. Hope you are well.
