The inspiration for this poem came after a very difficult year in which I relied so much on faith and hope for better days. I hope you enjoy.

Hope can right a thousand wrongs
Highlighting strength there all along
Without believing pain can change
The world becomes empty and strange
Faith allows for peace within
And gives us will to live again
Where love burns brightly as the sun
And every hardship scaled is won
Hope reminds us pain is real
But not what we're defined to feel
Our dreams exist for bright tomorrows
To overcome the present's sorrows
Faith reaches where we cannot bear
With truthful, tender loving care
Reminding us that we are good
In times when we're misunderstood
Hope can mend a fractured heart
And heal a world so torn apart
For without hope, the world would be
A dark place, swarmed by self-pity
Faith fills our lives with worth and light
To show us life will be all right
For our burdens are not our own
And we don't ever walk alone
Hope and faith combine as one
To bring us joy where there seems none
A smile, a wave, a wink, or quirk
Each one, a hopeful, faithful perk
With faith and hope, our hearts can mend
And troubled days shall reach an end
No more shall we be forced to grieve
If in our souls, we shall believe

I like your bottom lines Jill,
"With faith and hope, our hearts can mend
And troubled days shall reach an end
No more shall we be forced to grieve
If in our souls, we shall believe"

| Jill, I have received many blessings already this morning. This poem is one of them. There are so many amazing lines and thougths in this that I cannot even pick a favorite. I am partly sorry you had such a difficult year. I am very glad that it seems to be getting better and I am very, very glad to be witness to this poem/prayer. Be well, Kathy |
