...and when I finally showed up
and went into my mother's last room in the ICU
as the fluids were still clotting in their tubing
and the machinery of life was silent,
her knitting was sitting to one side
with many loose ends
like her life
and the necrosis lingered
unresolved
like her relationships.

Poignant and starkly honest. I like that kind of poetry because of its honesty.

I see this as a life line...and I wonder what channeled her life as she lived? She has a great son that was moved enough to share this..Love her unconditionally for we know not what tomorrow holds!

You moved me...
