In remembrance of my soul kitty, Shiloh. From "Trembling at the Threshold - Encountering the Divine in Daily Life"

I kept You at a distance,

thinking You were the defended one;

I approached with superficial affection,

ready to recoil if You seemed unresponsive.

Fear crackled through my being

like an electric charge.

I could not move toward You,

yet, You waited - just out of reach.

I shivered in the shadows of my own anguish,

unable to see;

Encased in a shroud of my own making,

my soul hungered for Your light.

Bent and aching from the strain

of my poseur’s stance, I yearned for relief,

and in an instant of surrender,

I fell into You.

You met me there:

moving softly to my side,

purring calmly,

while I trembled at the threshold.

Amazed at the ease of Your presence,

I found comfort,

and quietly rejoice

at Your compassion and gentleness.

I realize You were there in my sorrow,

waiting for me to open;

There in my wound,

healing me with Your quiet, constant love.

it's amazing isn't it vicky...when we realize He never leaves us...simply waits for us to step forward in faith into the miracle of His 'healing constant love'

i love the beautiful weaving of your words...so glad i stumbled on your work.

i have a little arab mare that i named 'shiloh'...peaceful one...simple because she was anything BUT that during our first few years :)

Cats can be mysterious at times. They want to be loved as much as you wish to be loved...Beautiful,Vicky.
