Two years from being a hundred years old,
my aunt Willie was strong and bold.
Scripture promises three score and ten,
living a holy life 70 years my friend!
She was not always right rarely wrong,
often musunderstood these virtues keep us strong.
Born 49 years after the Emancipation Proclamation,
when coloreds were freed from slavery in this nation.
She taught be example always showed love,
gave her best to the world and prayed to God aboove!
Loved her church and her Pastor Rev. Flowers,
supported them both till that home going hour.
Willie loved all her children taught the best she could,
a nation birth through her in a dying neighborhood!
Willie adorned wore many hats helped where ever she can,
welcome home my daughter to the promised land!
