 A blessed curse
Of eaten fruit
From the wrong "tree".
Of sweat and reward,
Sigh and award.
Of song-generating sound.
Of blue-white hum.
And bosses hated and loved.
Rainbow colors of collars.
Multitasking of callers.
Boots and bowties;
Gloves and manicures.
Of game and integrity;
Of field and grid.
It is why we like leather
Interior and Hi-Fi systems--
Hip-hop through Classical.
Beltway commutes--
Bus and subway rides--
And quiet.
Winds us up in morning,
Winds us down in evening.
We hated and loved
The theives of it
And the greeds of it.
We often love the Breeds of it
And the Seeds of it.
The way of eating;
The way of rest.
The Blessed
curse
of God--
Even He sat still
On the seventh day.

since the word of God is true and He rested then, certainly, we should rest...whether we love our 'work' or not, we need to be refreshed. thanks...

Work, so do we always benefit from the fruits of our labor? Great write Miles. Thanks for sharing!

It is easy to conclude that a job is work. But work is higher than that. I would work without a job and be grateful that I could do it seven days a week instead of just resting.
