Peridot Eyes Part 3
By La Belle Rouge

His carriage was drawn by horses black
She gave him directions along the way
Not giving it a thought nor looking back
where he was going, how long he’d stay
She snuggled close and nibbled his ear
It promised to be a night to remember
He shivered but felt no particular fear
October was as cold as late November
He bent to kiss her but she drew away
“No not yet,” she softly purred in his ear
“You shall have your way before the day
but you cannot have it yet and not here”
Candles in a cottage window that stood
in darkness at edge of a deep, dark wood

A forsaken place except for the dead
who slept in decaying graves by the path
“Not the dead but the living to dread”
She mumbled with a sardonic, little laugh
“For most of my life I’ve lived near here
I never knew this quaint cottage existed”
She stroked his cheek and moved near
“We arrived in time the path is misted
Come in and make yourself right at home”
She said as the door squeaked on its hinge
Her peridot eyes over his body roamed
with a look of lust heated enough to singe
What delights did Twilight have in store
Would he be enough, would she need more?

as crafty as the persuasive gesturing and whispers of this nocturnal mistress are your lines Belle - halloween was never intended to be so overtly entertaining - 'peridot eyes' hold me in the excitement of expectation - I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael

For a cold clammy graveyard ditty, this one is getting very hot. And the writing ain't bad either… In fact, it is superb.
