A poem inspired by the attached photo

Born into a life of evolution to be
Living amongst the plants & trees
An elongated form moving unheard
Silently chomping upon the leaves
Prey to the birds that are around
It is no safer upon the ground
Survival is hard at this first stage
For a future existence way up high
Joining the birds & the bees
When you eventually take to the sky
There's a whole new life ahead
Whilst you sleep & dream
Cocooned in a protective shell
Which will soon be shed
Nature reveals a wondrous sight
As you unfurl your wings
Bright coloured & delicate as silk
Then they quietly flutter
And catch the first breeze
As you take your first flight
Upon the earth you have spent
Two forms from one life
A miracle from heaven sent

Interesting write - which appeals to me both literally and as a metaphor. Ronald wishes we could all change like that - I think we do.

There is nothing more interesting or beautiful in nature than the cycle of the moth or butterfly and its metamorphosis. Oh, that we could all change like that!

Oh yes! "Two forms from one life
A miracle from heaven sent", As nature reveals the wonders of the Lord, so beautiful, William! Lovely job!
