In Reverence to the Boudin Blanc

It would seem that the French will celebrate absolutely anything...
I never laughed so much in all my life!

We were called to the annual dinner
I knew not what I'd see
Such regal and distinguished heads
Before my friends and me
With robes of jewel-bright velvet
All marching proud and brave
And Boudin Blanc in pride of place
Enthroned beyond the nave
Each faction royally announced
Like princes to a queen
With head-dresses and mortarboards
Such as I have never seen

Those introduced, the Grand Master
Called order to his crew
And thus began a ceremony
To initiate the new

Each one in turn declared their vow
To the mighty Boudin Blanc
Swore to taste four times a year
And pass the message on
Then each was duly knighted,
Accepted meat and wine,
Paid homage to the sacred grill
(The Boudin's kingly shrine),
Adorned with fine medallions
On ribbons scarlet red
And each got a certificate
To show they'd made their pledge

Such an air of pomp and circumstance,
The mark of stately rite
In reverence to the Boudin Blanc,
A sausage, mild and white.

:) Yes silly, but as long as we
can in good cheer celebrate what
we consider all good things then...

Cheers! :)

Yes I laughed too!

Which goes to show you that we Americans, in spite of our dismal economy still have too much time and money on our hands.

By the way, the sausage was delicious.

Oh, well, getting together for silliness such as this is better than burning cars in the street. HehHeh.

I can think of far worse things that people celebrate these days. And I hope you had a good time.
