Next Year...
It’s been five years
Living in the moment
Wiping away tears
It’s been an alignment.
Fall’s weather surrounds
Geese flying south.
They flew it yesterday
Word of mouth.
A rainy, cool day
Another year’s reminder
Speaking of yesterday
Will next fall be kinder?

Sometimes rainy fall weather brings a funk. After five years, I hope you get out of it soon. Time is too short to spend it down.

| I think we all hope and wonder if next year will be better when we are grappling with the passing one...you ask the question eloquently, and surprisingly timed as I think many of us have these types of reflections near the end of the calendar year...I believe that small surprise just makes the entire poem more interesting, and Fall is notorious for heralding the end, and depression as the sunlight is withdrawn. Very nice work. Be well, Kathy |
