A Part of Me
Sunday, two days ago
Geese flew overhead
Heading south
Moving slow.
Five years earlier
My father clung to life
He held on to me
Held on to his wife.
Phone rang that night
It was 3:33 am
Knew at that moment
He was out of sight.
Many weeks prior
I awoke every night
It was 3:33 am
God’s gift of sight.
My father, my hero
A man so proud
WWII veteran
He never spoke loud.
Today...
Tuesday, October 9, 2012
Reminders surround
I don’t mean to dwell.
Today, five years later
I cry.
Remembering...
My Daddy, I sigh.
Reality is...
Yesterday, today, tomorrow
Miss you Daddy, and
I feel the sorrow.

He must've meant a great deal to you. My father died about this time five years ago. I don't think much of him now that he is gone. I focus on my mother needs my help and encouragement to face the problems of her aging.

Wow! A great tribute to your special hero and loving father. Yes, his spirit lives inside of you and will always be a part of your heart and soul.
Yours in the love of Christ,
