on the river of life i have often gotten lost by
sailing in the wrong direction, but
it is only now, at this period in my
life, that i can see how perfectly
God's was steering me on my voyage.
to Him, i was never lost, so, i would, first of all,
like to thank God for all He has done for
me because i know
it was only Him that has kept me alive
time after time - day after day.
secondly, i would like to thank the
people that i've met along the way. i
would like to thank you - my friends and
followers here on AD, twitter, facebook and
myspace.
we follow each other and i am glad that you are all
a part of my life. I do appreciate you so much. i am
grateful for your understanding of my situation at
this time and for every word you take
the time to write to me.
but it is not just the good relationships that i
appreciate because i can hardly think of
your kindness and not think of the many
unkindnesses i have encountered in my life.
however, even from enemies, i've been taught so
many important first hand, hard lessons...lessons
that were necessary for me to learn.
i can't help bringing my
father to mind. i don't ever remember seeing him
but he has played a huge role in
shaping and molding me. with his absence i
developed a driven determination to survive. and
though at one time my will to live was sustained by
negative behavior, i have now learned to turn
negative actions into positive power. so,
thanks dad.
AD is my home. the first place where i found
i could 'breathe' outside of my cell.
and i am surrounded
with so many gifted and talented
writers and poets, whose work i do
admire and enjoy and who have
truly been the very best friends i've
ever known. i am humbled
by the extent of the response here and
on twitter. the love extended
through the many comments that i received
have been a source of inspiration for me.
of course, i would be amiss if i didn't
mention how i've come to appreciate
some other individuals over the years (some living,
some dead) who have inspired me with their lives.
there is; sean carter, nosia jones, frank sinatra,
sammy davis jr, sydney portier, cary grant, billie
holiday, marvin gaye, common, tupac shukar,
duke ellington, stevie wonder, bill gates
and donald trombo.
and last, but certainly, not least, i am
eternally grateful for the two
most important beings in my life; shaniah, my
daughter and joyce m bell, my mother.
My heart is, without question, with these two
remarkable females. one, gave me life
and the other...changed my life,
forever.
For all of your comments, tweets and reviews i
want you to know that
i will never forget you...all of you, because you
give my life meaning, at a time when
the selfless act of caring is so hard to find.
thank you being a part of my voyage,
thank you for allowing me to be a part of yours
thank you, again - and again.
