41 Years Ago.....My Mama Died

My Mama died October 22nd 1971. Today is the anniversary of her death. I still miss her terribly. I hope she is smiling down on me, her oldest child. Mama, I love you...

When my heart is troubled
And no one to talk too
My mind drifts back in time
And I think of you
I miss you so much, Mama
Why did you have to go
I guess thats one thing
We aren't meant to know

When I see a sunrise
Are a magical falling star
I feel close to you, Mama
If I could only reach that far
So many times I've needed
To feel you close to me
Needed your advice
But its not meant to be

I know its been long ago
But I can't help but cry
It would be easier, Mama
If I could have said goodbye
Rest in peace, dear Mama
We are never apart
Part of you walks with me
You live in my heart...

I love you, Mama...

Linda: Your mother will always be with you. This is a heartfelt tribute to her and today she is beside you. Believe that. Sometimes, when we are going about our days and we're not thinking daily of our loved one who have passed before us, I truly believe they remind us in a subtle, gentle way to not forget. Your Momma reminded you and because of her you wrote this beautiful poem.

God Bless You,
Deborah

Oh, if we could only go back to those happier times, But they are long gone and it is time that we forge ahead as every generation does. Let's hope they will think of you with this much reverence as you have for your mother.
