“Always remember to slow down in life; live, breathe, and learn; take a look around you whenever you have time and never forget everything and every person that has the least place within your heart.”

Birch in silence stand afar
in morning’s misty air
with hues of gray to frame her arms
this mystic autumn fair

Within the brick the fireplace holds
scents cedar that which burned
A softly glow of embers spent
aromas it has spurned

O’ silhouette thy shadow casts
through dawn’s breath of the mist
A walk I take upon the trail
Of once where we had kissed

I sit upon the bench which where
we both sat from the rain
my forest fairy I was called
for nature our domain

Upon my cheek a tear doth fall
just like the morning dew
and close my eyes to feel once more
a kiss from you I pulled

Hold me in your arms once more
and never let me go
for like the brick, which holds the scent
our ember ever glows

Simply lovely, as is every walk in the wood in autumn. And you've inspired me to take a walk there this morning with my faithful dogs and loving wife.

Simply enchanting. Like the feeling I get just walking through the forest with or without my loved one at my side. The way it is phrased, I thought of Longfellow's epic poem, Evangeline.

Carol, A walk that many of us have taken with the same said memories.
Nature ties in nicely with the birch tree and cedar that was burned in the fireplace that held the scent and the ember glows. Very romantic you are, Carol.

A top 10 winner for sure!
