|Linda, Very powerful poem, reminds me of the song, by my favorite singer; Pat Benatar, Hell Is For Children. Nice write all around and makes an important point. I was verbally abused and beat on most of my childhood, and a few of my poems deal with that issue. I only wrote 50, but see am behind on your total. Keep in touch.

|You are always right on these issues hon. You are able to express what the majority of people feel about this. We all want it to stop. The problem in many cases is that the perpetrator offen has no prior record of this type offense. Society is at a loss as how to deal with a problem in advance, when many of the people committing the crime have no prior record. They do try every way they can to catch the recidivist offender. What do they do about those who commit this as their first crime. How do you deal with this ... when you are not adequately dealing with the known pedophiles? It is a perplexing question for those who try to correct these problems on a day to day basis. Maybe one thing that could help would be increased public alert and awareness of others actions in public areas. And increase scrutiny and awareness of our surroundings. Especially with children around these areas. Also some type of national identity means or an alaarm that would let a parent know when a child has strayed from their site. But I really have no effective solutions. Bill|
