You used to be
my best friend.
You told me

We were attached
at the hip.
We were one.
Now that's changed.

I don't mind
that you have a new friend.
But why does that mean
I'm forgotten.

I miss your notes
during class
while we were
supposed to be listening.

I miss the laughs
and jokes.
Now all we do is argue.
About stupid, petty things.

What changed?
Sorry if I depended
on you too much.
You said I could.

I saw you through
your toughest times,
why can't you do
the same for me?

I need a friend.
I need a jewel.
I need to be whole,
with my Jade.

I cried today.
Cried because of you.
You left me out,
and called me names.

Why do you talk
behind my back?
Why not to my face
so you can see the tears fall.

Tell the whole world,
I'm jealous of you.
I don't hate
your boyfriend.

If you talked to me,
you'd know.
You'd know how I feel
and how I wish I was.

I don't want
to lose you.
But it seems I may.
You're just like the others.

I never thought I'd say
how terrible this is.
You said "I'll be there for you."
But only when you want to.

Someone else helped me.
And cared more than you.
You didn't notice I cried
and didn't try to help.

Thanks for being my friend.
Though the time was short,
I know who you really are.
Everyone else will soon find out.

This is about my friend Jessie. Her nickname is Jade and mine is Sapphire. Three of our other friends, Diamond, Crystal and Ruby form the Gems. We seem to be splitting up...and it really scares me.
