Smiling eyes

Passion and love are a memory of a past
Memories so strong, it went by too fast
Using the pain to tackle each day
Finally able to move on in my own way

Growing with pride as I face each day alone
Going to school or working on the phone
Focused priorities are my new cue
All that may have changed thanks to you

Walking in the door my eyes got stuck
Is she smiling at me? What good luck!
A smile that burned deep into my soul
Glistening eyes of green makes the picture whole

I caught your attention with a chance remark
I saw in your eyes a sizzling spark
Our meeting was short and sweet
Yet you stuck in my mind so complete

As we continue to meet from time to time
I wonder if I should share this type of rhyme
For when I first glance at your face
The smile stops my heart, my feet stuck in place

Time will tell where it will lead
Right now just know you have planted a seed
Nutured with patience and plenty of room
Our new friendship will be allowed to bloom
