framed by trees,
their leaves still green
and every kind of flower,
erect, of stone,
medievel,
stands the tower.

we climb it,
uninvited, but for stairs,
no eyes,
as we would know them,
yet it glares.

no change of season
marks its stern facade.
it stands, as if its own
divining rod.

it chooses not
who climbs atop to see,
yet provides those
who do
serenity.

from round, imbedded base
to lofty top,
repelling snow
and blistering sun
the same.
no features like a human
has it got.
it stands with seeming pride
without a name.

Ah, my sweet little Katydid. Top o' the mornin' to ye. What a fine view of an auld Irish tower ye have for us here. Makes me wish I was there over yonder with ye.
