Tell me

The world’s story.

Yes, I have heard

Blue skies sing,

Seen the young, dark earth

By man’s predatory maw.

Yet you would tell me

That the world

Is yours, is a creation

Of fate

And human kind

Who play their games of war

On soil

Already black with blood?

No, the poetry is mine,

Call Me what you will—

I have neither form nor face,

I whisper

In the pines and murmur

Through the seas—

Be I God to you, or Allah

Or simple chance

To those without a god

I am

Whatever is beyond you

For all time.

I was wondering if the first two stanzas were the voice of the poet and the last two were that of God? Your work always reminds me of a greater awareness.

Leslie P Garcia is one of the few poets who should be classified a master of the craft, this delicate art of painted pictures on a canvas of words laced together as finely as a spider's silk: tough but true.

I believe God has a face, but anyway, this is a pretty poem that hopes for peace. Andrea
