Witches, broomsticks, ghosts and ghouls
Cauldrons, bats and magic tools
Can you guess this scary scene?
Of course you can, itís Halloween

Jack-o-lanterns burning bright
Ugly witches taking flight
Painted faces at my door
Trick-or-treaters wanting more

In moon-bright light, shadows loom
Tales that monsterís rise from tombs
Goblins, black cats, ghostly frights
Children running through the night

Vampires lurking in the trees
Mummies dragging bloody knees
Frankenstein with arms stretched out
Make the kiddos scream and shout

Spider webs hung from the trees
Where ghosts dance freely in the breeze
What a wild and frightful scene
This holiday called Halloween

You captured the latest mythology. Unfortunately, kids can't go out alone and do tricks, beg for candy, or get scared in my neighborhood like I could as a kid.

This is super good as are all your poems. I love your rhym scheme, to me it's just so much easier to read poetry that rhyms and flows so smoothly. I have another halloween poem I will post soon, but I would rather read yours it's so good. Love Vic

The Man Who Saved Christmas by Jeff Ovall

Christmas - only days away; plastic snowmen and glowing reindeer adorn the lawns of neighborhoods all across America. All is calm, all is bright, and yet there is something tragic..
