He soars on high with site so keen,
this majesty in space.
To symbolize our freedom,
extolled with stealth and grace.

Embrace the sky with mighty path,
gliding past without a flaw.
Born of nobility not of wrath,
his span ablaze with awe.

Shelter sought beneath his wings,
expression pressed to find.
Celestial realms of natures beings,
enthralls the mortal mind.

O bird of prey from earthly regions,
a tear for man flows free.
Assemble all your loyal legions,
and protect this land for me.

A beloved symbol put to words. I've never seen a poem on this topic before. Doubt any could say this better! I love the line, "Shelter sought beneath his wings," - such meaning there! ~Sheila

A very fitting tribute to the symbol of freedom for this country of ours. Especially during these troubling times that we are facing as a Free Nation.... Thank You ! Steve

The majestic Eagle. Karen paid such a wonderful tribute to this poem. She is a doll and I love her. I cannot add to what she said. Please let her comment be my comment. Bill

lovely write!! i sure do love majestic when in flight, magnificent when not in the air..have seen them in our backyard in ohio (babies); they landed in our tree in our backyard, and daddy had me get the bird book to see what kind of bird was in our yard, and when i saw the yellow beak, i looked at the hawks and stuff, and found out that it WASN'T a hawk, but a baby bald eagle! i was absolutely amazed!! saw him again several months later, and the feathers on his head and tail were starting to turn white. (baby bald eagles are all brown.) love, your friend, karen lynn. (((((HUGS))))) :)
